From the B'ham area, travel north on I-59 to exit 156. Take a right on Hwy 23. Travel 6 miles and we are on your left.
From the Gadsden area, travel south on I-59 to exit 166. Take a left on Hwy 231. Travel 2.5 miles and take a right on Court St. and another right onto Hwy 23. Travel 6 miles and we are on your right.

Kayaking is an outdoor sport and it is important to dress appropriately. Always check the weather before you get in the water. Quick dry clothing, sunglasses, hats and tennis shoes or sports sandals are all very beneficial when paddling. Other items you may want to bring would include: a water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen, water proof bag for phone and other items you don't want to get wet. A towel and change of clothes are great to keep in your car.

Making a reservation is easy. Simply call now at 205-452-9553 and we will get you set up with your reservation. Have a date in mind, how many boats you'll need and a credit card number ready when you call. You must be at least 21 to make a reservation. Boat rentals fill up quickly so make your reservation ASAP.

Kayaking down Big Canoe Creek is the perfect outdoor, family friendly activity. Our creek is great for all levels from beginner to advanced experience. Recommended for children that can swim ages 8 and up. It's also a great trip for couples, youth groups, work retreats or just friends hanging out for the day.

Our section of the creek is approximately 3 miles long and can take anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours. It all depends on how fast you want to paddle. There is a time limit of 3 hours on the boat rental. We have 7 launch times a day at 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 12;00, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 pm. If you are bringing your own boat, we shuttle at 11 AM ONLY. You will need to be at the outfitters at least 15 minutes prior to launch times.

How long is the paddling trip?
Yes! For $20 a boat, we offer a shuttle service for anyone who already has a kayak and wants to paddle our portion of the creek. We provide a safe place to park your car and shuttle service for you and your boat to the launch area. Stay and enjoy your paddle as long as you would like. The gate to the parking lot will be closed and locked at 7 pm.
